Around the Fleet

USS Darmok: The Darmok has begun a story arc where we are making our way through the Bajoran Wormhole to distant parts of the Gamma Quadrant where only the ISS Reciprocity fared a dozen years ago, to perform Advanced Reconnaissance on a potential resurgence of a dangerous species known as the Kyrathian Swarm. We will be picking up Ambassador Adam Android (long-serving Federation Ambassador to the Aslan Heirate) and continuing deep into the Gamma Quadrant, far from any Starfleet or Federation influence. Wish us luck!

USS Excelsior: The Excelsior is currently patrolling the frontier borders of the Federation. For months now, they have been searching for the anomalous creature/ship/whatever (they haven’t been able to get good enough scans of it to actually determine what it is) that has been abducting ship crews, and starbase crews all over the area. They recently recovered sixty-five members of Starbase 295 whom had been found just floating in space in a green bubble, of sorts, which had been maintaining their lives. There have also been… signs of something coming up that might involve one of their current crew members.

Outpost Phoenix: While exploring the area of no-cochrane space known as the Maskawk, the Outpost Phoenix survey team aboard USS Lexington encountered the brief IFF beacon of a Starfleet vessel. Upon investigation, it was discovered to be the derelict remains of the first USS Lothlorien (NCC-514251), a Springfield-class refit that declared Lost 21 years ago. The ship is heavily damaged, and the crew of OPX is trying to restore partial power to her.

OPX is also slated to become the first USF sim to play on Discord. Discord simming on OPX will begin on the Outpost Phoenix server (https://discord.gg/5jcEM8T) in channel ‘Synchronous Orbit’ on 201810.14.

Starfleet Academy: A new academic year is underway at the Starfleet training facility. The commandant, Captain Rhea Janseen, has tried a new program of having upperclassmen train the first-year cadets in different introductions to their respective specialties. Her hope is to promote a maturity to the upperclassmen to better prepare them for their roles as Starfleet officers.
